Profile

Dr. Abhay Nene is a consultant spinal surgeon at Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre. He holds an MBBS and MS (Orthopaedics) degree from University of Bombay and has worked in many hospitals, both in India and abroad and comes with an experience of over 16 years in spine surgery.

After obtaining his M.S. in Orthopaedics, he started his career at Dr. Vasantrao Pawar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. After that he worked in the department of orthopaedics at various hospitals. He then completed his clinical fellowship in spine surgery at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre.

He has also fulfilled many office, teaching, and research positions and has been participated as invited faculty at various national and international conferences and workshops.

Research Publications

His work and research have also been published in a vast number of international journals over the years. In addition, he has made contributions to other publications namely, the ASSI textbook of Spinal Infections & Trauma and Textbook of Orthopedics & Traumatology, 2008, Jaypee.

At the ASSICON 2017 his poster presentation on ‘Tuberculous spondylodiscitis with coexistent Multiple Myeloma-A rare case’ was declared the best. He has also published a number of articles in medical journals.
