Profile

Dr. Darshan Parekh is attached with Lilavati Hospital as a Consultant Gastroenterologist & Advanced Endoscopist. He has done his Masters in General Surgery followed by a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai under Dr. Mohan Joshi. He subsequently trained in Neurogastroenterology and Motility in USA under a pioneer in manometry and pH studies. He recently spent 8 months in Tokyo training in endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and magnifying endoscopy under Dr. Ken Ohata, who is a legend in endoscopic resections and closure.
 
Dr. Parekh is an Advanced Endoscopist and has trained in Japan to perform very precise diagnostic endoscopy to diagnose early GI cancers and resect them by endoscopic techniques such as ESD, EFTR and STER. He has special interest in motility and performs esophageal and anorectal manometry and pH studies to diagnose and even possibly endoscopically manage GERD(by ARMS/ARMA procedure) and dysphagia (by POEM procedure). He is an expert in biliary and pancreatic ERCP. He has a rich experience of 11 years.
 
Dr. Parekh has number of original publications in national and international journals and is actively involved in various international collaborative research protocols. He has presented many papers in prestigious international conferences and is involved at committee level with these organizations.
