Dr Nirad Vengsarkar is renowned in the field of Orthopedics with vast experience of 16 years .He is a specialist knee, hip and spine. Common surgical treatments such as knee replacement, hip replacement, minimally invasive spine surgeries and deformity corrections are the cornerstone of Dr Vengsarkar’s practice.

Overseas training and assignments:

• Completed ACGME accredited fellowship in Spine surgery. He was the 1st international foreign fellow to be accepted into this program.
• He is visiting fellow with Dr Richard Berger and Dr A. Rosenberg (pioneers in minimal access Hip and Knee Replacement).
• Visiting fellow for Joint replacement at Insall Scott Kelly and Albert Einstein Institute, New York.
• Fellow in Adult reconstruction and Arthroplasty at Singapore General Hospital. Worked on Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, under the guidance of Dr K H Seow (Head of Dept of Adult Reconstruction), Dr N N Lo (Associate Head of Adult Reconstruction) and Dr S J Yeoh (Senior Consultant).

Achievements:

• Gold medalist in DNB examinations (1999).Stood 1st amongst the successful candidates in the country in this national level examination in Orthopedics conducted across India.
• Gold medalist in Anatomy and Silver medalist in Pathology and Microbiology in the undergraduate University examinations.
• Training fellows in Arthroplasty for the last 3 years with the sponsorship of Deputy (Johnson & Johnson), India, with each Fellow being exclusively assigned for a period of 6 months.
• Lecturer in the Department of Orthopaedics, LTMG Hospital Mumbai (1999–2000).
• Faculty on the National Arthroplasty Course (2004-2008). Course designed to teach national postgraduate doctors from all over India tips and techniques of Arthroplasty.
• Faculty on the Bombay Spine Course (2004-2008) – Local body teaching students the art of spinal surgery.
